VFW hosts car show, scout breakfast Saturday

The third annual All American Bad Ass Car Show will be held this Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Sonoma Valley Veterans Memorial grounds.

More than 150 American-made 1973 and older hot rods, customs, and restored vehicles will be on display.

Admission to the show is free to the viewing public. Vehicle registration is $30. Gates open for registration at 7:30 a.m. and to the public at 9 a.m., with the show ending at 3 p.m.

The public is reminded there is no parking at the Veterans building lot and is asked not to use the driveway as a turn around. Parking is available at the following sites:

• Arnold Field and the Field of Dreams parking lots.

• Behind the Sonoma Barracks. Entry is off First Street East.

• Limited parking will be available in the overflow lot to Arnold Field off First Street East.

• Legal street parking spaces.

At 7:30 a.m., a Boy Scout pancake breakfast is open to the public until 10:30 in the veterans building. Tickets are $5 for seniors and children under 11; adults and children 12 and over are $7.

The show opens at 9 a.m. with the flag-raising ceremony and the national anthem. Great music, good food, drinks, vendors, the Sonoma County Calendar Girls, raffles, silent auction, and trophy presentations will be part of the day-long event.

All proceeds go to support Veterans of Foreign Wars Bear Flag Post 1943, their programs, and local veterans. Visit VFWPost1943.org to find out more information or call 938-3543.
