Trees coming down

A crew from Hodgin & Sons Tree Care in Santa Rosa cut down the huge eucalyptus tree on Highway 12 by Fetters Creek on Wednesday. The tree removal is part of the preparation for the sidewalks and streetlights project along Highway 12.

Traffic was periodically stopped in both directions when large branches were cut and fell to the ground. They started around 9 a.m. and finished in the afternoon. The crew would stop work altogether when someone needed to pass through the work zone, and they chipped the discarded bits immediately on site.
