Transcendence Theatre Company wins four Broadway World San Francisco awards

Transcendence Theatre Company, producer of the “Broadway Under the Stars in Jack London State Park” concert series, has won the Broadway World San Francisco Award for “Theater of the Year,” as well as “Best Special Theater Event,” “Best Production for Youth” and “Best Choreographer” for their 2013 season.

Broadway World is the world’s largest theater site on the Internet and honors the theatrical arts in many communities across the U.S.

TTC Artistic Director Amy Miller said, “We are so grateful to the community of Sonoma and the entire Bay Area for embracing our company. We share all of these honors with the amazing patrons, volunteers, supporters, and artists that brought Transcendence Theatre to life. The future is so bright!”

In addition to winning the awards, the 2013 season was a wonderful success in attracting over 11,000 attendees raising more than $40,000 for Jack London State Historic Park, Miller added.

Transcendence Theatre Company is a nonprofit arts organization comprised of artists with professional experience from Broadway, movies, and television. TTC is beginning its third year in the Sonoma Valley and specializes in producing high caliber musical concerts in the majestic open-air ruins of the historic winery in Jack London State Park and at various locations around Sonoma County.

“Broadway Under the Stars” weaves favorite Broadway and popular songs into a spectacular evening that will leave audiences wanting more.

The 2013 season featured performers who have performed on Broadway in “Mamma Mia,” “Les Miserables,” “Chicago,” “La Cage Aux Follies,” “Gypsy,” “Hairspray,” “Follies,” “White Christmas,” “Million Dollar Quartet,” “Mary Poppins” and more.

The 2014 “Broadway Under the Stars” concert series, playing June 27 through Sept. 6, will include four separate themed concerts, totaling 16 nights of performances, wine tasting, and pre-event picnics in the park. All events begin with the picnic at 5 p.m., with food and wine for sale from various vendors on site, with a 7:30 p.m. curtain.

Visit the website, transcendencetheatre.org, for a Valentine’s Day special gift ticket offer. TTC also offers discounts on ‘early-bird’ tickets purchased before May 1. A portion of every ticket sold will benefit Jack London State Park.

The success of these concerts will play a vital role in sustaining the threatened park for generations to come.
