In this evening’s 10th and final regular season game, the Sonoma Valley High School varsity football boys hit the road for a showdown at longtime Sonoma County League rival Petaluma.

Riding a four-game league winning streak, the Dragons enter tonight’s 7:30 p.m. SCL clash at Durst Field in sole possession of second place with a 4-1 record and 7-2 overall mark, while Petaluma’s records are 2-3 and 4-5, respectively.

Sonoma is hoping to gain more postseason momentum with a win, while the hosting Trojans need a victory to reach the postseason.

After tonight’s regular season finale, the Dragons will wait for Sunday’s North Coast Section seeding meeting to see where they’re seeded for the NCS playoffs, with a strong chance to host a first round game.
