Tennis girls honor seniors, blank ’Hounds

First the Sonoma Valley High School’s tennis girls honored their seniors in a pre-match ceremony at last Thursday’s Sonoma County League season finale, then they hammered visiting Healdsburg for a 7-0 shutout win on the refurbished high school courts – results not available at presstime

The seven Lady Dragon seniors honored included Haley Glasner, Ava Gonzales, Jacqueline Mondragon, Samantha Richards, Brooke Slack and Michelle Stovall.

Next up are the SCL singles and doubles tournaments, taking place on the Santa Rosa Junior College courts starting Thursday, Oct. 31.

Sonoma’s soccer teams end their regular seasons this week, with the third-place Lady Dragons concluding their campaign tonight at SCL foe Petaluma.

The Dragon boys, who find themselves tied for SCL first place after defending champion frontrunner Analy lost to Elsie Allen on Friday, play at longtime league rival Petaluma tomorrow evening, Wednesday, Oct. 23, before hosting now second-place Elsie Allen in their finale at 4 p.m. this Friday, Oct. 25, on the high school field.

Sonoma’s cross-country teams hit the SCL road for tri-meets against Analy and hosting Healdsburg at the Hoot Owl Creek Winery course tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 23, before hosting league foe El Molino in their home-finale dual meets at 4 p.m. on the Maxwell Park course on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
