The article in Tuesday’s Index-Tribune (“Another Brown Act violation?” Nov. 26.) seems to indicate that the City Council meeting had its tail docked, leaving nothing but the end of the story, for it begins, “At the tale end of a largely somnolent City Council meeting … “ And later, we read, “To Barbose, for Brown to say unequivocally who the next mayor and mayor pro tem would be … ” This makes it seem that Mayor Brown was advocating assault.
I’m grateful for the Index-Tribune’s creative misuse of the language; it’s an endless source of entertainment for grammarians. (I forbore mentioning the painted jam, not wanting to embarrass the letter writer.)
