Susan Rettle

Susan Rettle, 72, passed peacefully on April 15, 2014. She was surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Bill Rettle; her daughters, Tammy Rettle and Janet Alexander; and grandchildren, Amanda, Kamron and Mikayla Alexander – all of Las Vegas, Nev. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Old, of Turlock.

Bill and Sue lived and raised their family in Sonoma for 34 years. They moved to Las Vegas when Sue retired from the Sonoma Valley Unified School District after working with them for 27 years – Bill had already retired as Sonoma’s chief of police.

She leaves behind many friends in Sonoma – as well as being “Aunt Sue” to Vince, Michele, Dustin and Abbey Sloane, all of Sonoma. Sue loved to bowl, camp and fish. One of her favorite places to camp and throw a line in the water was at Blue Lake, where she was known to regularly out fish the guys.

She will be missed beyond measure.
