Susan Marie Kemble Randuch, 51, died Aug. 21, 2013, of cancer, in Sonoma. She was a compassionate nurse and busy mother of three, who always found time for volunteer work in her community.

Susan was born and raised in Oakland on June 21, 1962, and was a 1980 graduate of Skyline High School. She earned an associate of arts degree from Santa Rosa Junior College; a bachelor of science degree from St. Mary’s College in Moraga; and an RN degree from Samuel Merritt School of Nursing in Oakland in 1986. She moved to Sonoma in 1990.
Susan started her nursing career at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek. She worked at Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa before joining the staff of the Sonoma Valley Hospital Home Care Program. She worked as a floor nurse and oncology home care nurse and in home care and case management.
Susan was an active volunteer at Sassarini Elementary School, serving for many years as treasurer of the Organization of Parents and Teachers. She was a familiar face at Sassarini, where she helped organize student events, fundraising programs and staff appreciation projects. Susan also helped with numerous classroom activities.
She also assisted with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She served as secretary for Boy Scout Troop 16 for five years. Susan enjoyed gardening and home improvement activities, but her most important interest was caring for her family.
She was predeceased by her parents, John Robert Kemble and Mary June Kemble; and her brother, Daniel Richard Kemble.
Susan was the wife of James Antony Randuchl and the mother of Jake Ryan Randuch, Jordan Bryce Randuch and Jenna Marie Randuch, all of Sonoma. She also is survived by her brother, John Robert Kemble of Napier, New Zealand; her sister, Julie Ann Kemble of Groveland; and her nieces, Isabella Rose Alexander-Kemble and Francesca Marie Alexander-Kemble of Napier, New Zealand.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at the Sonoma Valley Veterans Memorial Building, 126 First St. W. (doors open at 4 p.m.), with a potluck reception following. Donations in Susan’s memory may be made to the Sonoma Valley High School Boosters Club, Sonoma Valley High School, 20000 Broadway, Sonoma 95476.
