Supports Dodd for Assembly

Editor, Index-Tribune:

Sonoma and Napa have long shared a friendly rivalry over our wine and tourism industries. Though our two regions may see each other as competitors, we have much more in common with shared roots in agriculture that are critical to our economic prosperity.

Bill Dodd is someone who understands these shared interests, and that’s why I support him for the District 4 State Assembly seat.

Dodd has served for 14 years on the Napa County Board of Supervisors where he’s been a people-first type of leader, demonstrating his ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds to build consensus and achieve major accomplishments.

Dodd has been an active voice on preserving our region’s agricultural tradition and supports fully funding the Williamson Act, a state program that preserves land for agricultural and open space uses. He also has major environmental accomplishments, including spearheading Napa’s flood control project that has restored 900 acres of environmental wetlands and created $1 billion of investment in Napa’s downtown businesses.

Furthermore, Dodd understands that a high quality education system focused on making sure all students are supported in order to achieve their dreams is critical to California’s future. I’m confident Dodd will represent Sonoma Valley well in the State Assembly. Please join me in voting for him.
