Schoeningh’s major decision in the 184-pound class gave the Dragons almost half their points in the 60-16 loss to the Trojans, with Macklynn Liss the only other faceoff winner, though Tyler Winslow won by forfeit. Though the senior-heavy Petaluma team dominated, coach Nico Saldana was able to find a silver lining in the tough Dragon performance, and the JV grappers took 4 of the 7 contested matches. Sonoma Valley hosts the Deets Winslow Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 12, at Pfeiffer Gym, starting at 9 a.m.
