Sonoma thinclads stumble

Dragon boys, girls both finish third|

El Molino won both the boys and girls meets Wednesday in a triangular track meet in Sonoma. Host Sonoma came in third in both meets.

In the boys meet, El Molino had 97 points, Analy had 38 and Sonoma had 30.

The Dragons did take three firsts, the 4X100 relay with Luke Sendaydiego, Gabe Gissell, Jesus Robles and Andrew Powers; the 800 with Liam Sheldon and the high jump with Sendaydiego getting the win. Sonoma was second in the 4X400 relay. Gissel was third in the 100 while Robles was third in the 200. Connor Barry was fourth in both the 1,600 and the 800, while Powers was fourth in the 200.

For the girls, El Molino took first with 85 points, Analy was second with 62 and Sonoma was third with 20 points.

Emma Maggioncalda won the high jump while Kaylie Barrera won the triple jump. Barrera was also second in both the high jump and the long jump. Samantha Pencil was third in the 100; while Maggioncalda was fourth in the 100. Jasmine Garcia was fourth in the 110 high hurdles.

The Dragon junior varsity boys won their meet with 71 points, Analy had 63 and El Molino had 17. Analy won the girls JV meet with 65 points, Sonoma had 58 and El Molino had four.

The Dragon thinclads are off until Wednesday when they host Elsie ?Allen in a dual meet to finish the SCL regular season. After that, Sonoma is off until Thursday, May 10, and Saturday, May 12, when they’ll compete in the SCL meet. The preliminaries will be run on Thursday, May 10, with the finals set for Saturday, May 12.
