SVHS swimmers continue to win

SCL meet set for Friday, Saturday|

The Sonoma Valley High Dragon swimmers continued their winning ways Thursday, beating Petaluma. The boys won 119-57 while the girls won 109-61.

For the boys, Ethan Smith won the 200 IM in 2:28.28 and the 500 free (5:46.80); Dominic Tommasi took the 50 free (24.54) and the 100 fly (58.76); Jason Pine won the 100 free (55.52) and the 100 breast (1:17.04); Dominic Fiorito won the 200 free (2:11.30) and Jack Yeates took the 100 back (1:15.29).

In the relays, the team of Pine, Smith, Tommasi and Fiorito won both the 200 medley and the 400 free, while the team of Mario Coronado, Chris Berger, James Greenslade and Dane Paulson won the 200 free.

For the girls, the team of Abby Parr, Charlotte Hunter, Maya Grajczyk and Hannah Ladouceur won the 200 medley relay the team of Isabella Dedmore, Grajczyk, Sofia Portello and Hanna Wales won the 200 free while the team of Hunter, Portello, Ladouceur and Parr won the 400 free.

Portello won the 200 free (2:10.05) and the 500 free (5:50.29). β€œIt was a great race all the way through, where Sofia out-touched her opponent by half a second after being neck and neck for the whole 20 laps,” said Coach Jane Hansen.

Also, Ladouceur won the 50 free (26.36) and the 100 free (58.57), just out-touching teammate Abby Parr (58.71); Hunter won the 100 fly (1:06.56); and Parr won the 100 back (1:09.33).

This Friday and Saturday, the Dragons will be swimming in the final SCL swim meet. The Dragons scored a double-win last year. And Hansen is also hoping for some North Coast Section qualifying times.
