Dragon swimmers sweep Analy

Both boys, girls are defending SCL champs.|

The Sonoma Valley High Dragon swimmers won both the girls and boys meets Thursday sweeping Analy.

The girls won 119-46, while the boys had even a more lopsided win topping the Tigers 134-19.

The boys swept the relay races winning the 200 Medley relay with Ethan Smith, Jason Pine, Dominic Tommasi and Dominic Fiorito in a time of 1:54.34; the 200 free with Pine, Smith, Tommasi and Fiorito in 1:38.31; and the 400 free relay with Benjamin Goodman-Chavez, Mason Phillips, Jack Yeats and Hank Schoeningh in 4:18.20.

Smith won the 200 free (2:04.3) and the 500 free (5:48.42); Fiorito took the 50 free (23.80) and Tommasi won the 100 free (54.13).

The girls also swept the relays winning the 200 Medley with Abby Parr, Charlotte Hunter, Maya Grajczyk and Hannah Ladouceur in 2:00.67; the 200 free with Parr, Sophie Portello, Ladouceur and Hunter (1:48.27); and the 400 free with Kathryn Ajax, Grajczyk, Portello and Hanna Wales (4:08.56).

Also, Portello won the 200 free (2:11.06) and the 500 free (5:56.32); Hunter won the 100 free (58.72) and the 100 breast (1:16.04); Grajczyk won the 200 IM (2:33.38) and Ladouceur won the 50 free (26.64).

The swimmers are back in action today, Tuesday, with a non-conference meet at St. Helena, and they wrap up their regular season on Thursday when they host Petaluma at the Sonoma Aquatic Club, 17350 Vailetti.

After Thursday’s meet, the Dragons are off until the Sonoma County League championships on Friday, April 27, and Saturday, April 28, at the SRJC pool in Santa Rosa. Both the boys and the girls are defending champions.
