Dragon swimmers trounce Piner

Dragon swimmers host El Molino on Thursday.|

The Sonoma Valley High swim teams Thursday scored a double victory beating Piner. The boys won 131-17 while the girls were 133-37 winners.

Double winners for the boys were Dominic Tommasi in the 200 free (2:02.93) and the 100 fly (1:00.39); Ethan Smith in the 200 IM (2:24.06) and the 100 back (1:08.8); and Dominic Fiorito in the 50 free (24.25) and the 100 free (56.42).

Double winners for the girls included Hannah Ladouceur in the 50 free (26.8) and the 100 back (1:09.25); Maya Grajczyk in the 200 IM (2:33.47) and the 100 fly (1:13.1); and Charlotte Hunter in the 100 free (58.9) and the 100 breast (1:16.04).

The girls’ medley relay team of Ladouceur, Hunter, Grajczyk and Abby Parr were victorious in 2:02.43 which is an NCS consideration time. And the 400 free relay team of Ladouceur, Parr, Sophie Portello and Hunter won in 4:02.41, which is also an NCS consideration time.

The boys’ 200 free relay team of Tommasi, Fiorito, Jason Pine and Smith won in a time of 1:38.86 which is an NCS consideration time.

Coach Jane Hansen said the cold, rainy weather kept the times from being better. “The kids were freezing,” she said.

The swimmers next meet is Thursday when they host El Molino at the Sonoma Swim Center.
