Tennis girls stumble

Fall to Analy, Healdsburg|

The Sonoma Valley High tennis girls lost matches to Analy and Healdsburg earlier this week.

On Monday, in a match that was rescheduled from August, the Analy Tigers topped the Lady Dragons, 5-2.

In singles play, at #1, Analy’s Alma Meckler-Pacheco topped Audry Castillo, 6-0 and 6-1. At #2, Christina Golubovich defeated Analy’s Marion Hall Zagueta, 6-4 and 6-4. In #3 action, Analy’s Sophie Kerosky beat Lizza Moore, 6-1 and 6-1, while at #4, Analy’s Ava Whitehorn beat Olivia Weisiger, 6-1 and 6-1.

In doubles action, Acacia Schow and Siobhan Hernandez topped Analy’s Maki Mizutan and Aliya Goldstein, 3-6, 6-1 and 6-4. At #2, Analy’s Taylor Talcott and Danny Acosta beat Hannah Chun and Gina Chun, 6-2 and 6-4; and at #3, Analy’s Isabel Housman and Kelsa Braga defeated Candice Silkey and Emma Lorenzen, 6-3 and 6-0.

In a doubles exhibition, Sonoma’s Lucy Sondheim and Eden Scheiblich beat Analy’s Maddie Nelson and Audrey Reyff, 6-4.

Tuesday, Healdsburg came to town and left with a 6-1 win.

The two losses drops the Dragons’ league record to 3-4.

Sonoma had a bye on Thursday, but will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to El Molino.
