The Sonoma Valley High golf girls are still looking for their first win of the season after dropping two matches last week to Petaluma and Analy.

Tuesday, they dropped a match to Petaluma. The score was Petaluma 282, Sonoma 363.

For Sonoma, Alison Perkins shot a 61, Sammi Pencil had a 63, Jessica Haro carded a 78, Dee Dee Montes an 80, Alejandra Alvarez shot 81 and Jacky Barragan, retired.

For Petaluma, Lilly Catarozoli was the medalist with a 44, Olivia Zimmerman shot a 52, Jenna Silacci had 58, Channing Mathews and Simone Smith each shot 64 and Maddie Webber had a 70.

“It was another learning match for the Dragons with five of the six players being first-time golfers,” said Coach Walt Williams. “The girls are still positive and having fun going into the second half of the season.”

Thursday, Sonoma fell to Analy, 305-352.

For the Lady Dragons, Alison Perkins shot a 56, Kayla Minehan shot 71, Andrea Molina shot a 72, Ivy O’Donnell had 76, Sabrina Baker shot a 77, and Simone Raup shot 81. For Analy, Baylee Vyenielo and Gianna Bianchi both carded 51s, Mia Wesselkamper shot a 62, Sophia Bianchi shot 67, Emma Castleberry had 74, and Morgana Leopard shot an 80.

“The Sonoma girls continue to improve but the Analy team was just too strong,” said Williams. “Outstanding rounds from Baylee and Gianna of Analy and Alison (Perkins) of Sonoma.”

The loss drops the Lady Dragons to 0-6 on the season.

Sonoma is on the road this week, at El Molino today, Tuesday, and at Piner on Thursday.
