Schools meet today to realign

Sonoma could find itself with new opponents|

Sonoma Valley High should find out late this afternoon who their new conference opponents will be starting next fall.

With Napa High School, Vintage High School and American Canyon moving over to the North Coast Section from the Sac-Joaquin Section, conferences will be re-drawn.

All the schools in the Marin-Sonoma-Mendocino Conference will be meeting today at Cardinal Newman to hash out the conference alignments for the next two years.

SVHS Principal Kathleen Hawing will be representing the Dragons at this afternoon’s meeting. Sonoma could have a five-person contingent at the meeting. Hawing indicated that she thought co-athletic directors Bob Midgley and Ian Slaney along with vice-principal Aaron Gildengorin and Boosters President Chris McNairy will also be at the meeting.

After the conference officials act today, the matter goes to the NCS Alignment Committee that will meet on Thursday at the North Coast Section Office in San Ramon.
