Angels upset Falcons, win Little League tourney

Will represent Sonoma in District 53 tourney|

In the winner take all Sonoma Little League Championship game, the Angels upset the regular season Champion Falcons to take the City Championship Title at Hughes Field.

The Angels took an early 4-0 lead, but the Falcons battled back to even the game at 4-4. The score remained tied until the fifth inning when the Angels took advantage of three walks and three singles to break the game open and eventually hold on to a 9-5 victory.

The Angels were led offensively by Sam Denkin and Luc Demartini who had three hits apiece and got strong pitching from Finn Parker and Enzo Masciorini. The Falcons got two hits apiece from Jaden Vides (who hit his league leading 16th HR), Brett Armitage and Thomas Walsh in the loss. The Angels will go on to represent Sonoma Little League in the District 53 Tournament of Champions starting this week.

The SLL Tournament Champion Angels, directed by Manager Jason Masciorini and coaches Dave Stagnaro and Tim Borden are Jack Alley, Jack Borden, Connor Cooper, Luc Demartini, Sam Denkin, Cesar Evina, Cosimo Hanson, Enzo Masciorini, Jared Mellinger, Finn Parker, Rowan Parker and Sonny Smith.

The regular season Champion Falcons, directed by Manager Johnny Armitage and coaches Jim Vides and Zach Lawrence, are Brett Armitage, Vinny Girish, Oisin Heffernan, Spencer Jacobs, Grant Kiser, Eli Lawerence, Cody Morton, Dom Pucci, Lincoln Reiter, Jacob Schepp, Jaden Vides and Thomas Walsh.
