The Sonoma Valley High tracksters earned a split Wednesday in a triangular meet with El Molino and Healdsburg.

The girls won their meet with 70 points to El Molino’s 58 and Healdsburg’s 34. The boys were third in their meet. El Molino had 77 points, Healdsburg had 44 and Sonoma finished a point behind at 43.

For the girls, senior Julia Hart won the shot and was fourth in the discus. Junior Emma Maggioncalda won the high jump and was third in both the 100 meters and the 200 meters. Junior Amy Stanfield won the 400 meters and was second in both the 1,600 and the 800.

Sophomore Nicole Curreri was second in the long jump while junior Tessa Baxter was third in the long jump and second in the triple jump. Freshman Kasia Jacobsen was second in the high jump; senior Hannah Ford-Monroe was second in the 100 meter hurdles and sophomore Annika Ginter was third in the 100 hurdles and fourth in the 300 hurdles.

Senior Grace Cutting was second in the 300 hurdles; junior Gigi Girish was second in the 100 meters and second in the 200 meters; junior Trinity McGuiness was fourth in the 200; junior Aliya Blinman was second in the 3,200; senior Maddie Cashel was fourth in the 3,200 and Areli Alvarez was fourth in the shot.

Sonoma’s 4X100 relay team won while the 4X400 relay team was second.

For the boys, senior Noah Bartolome won the 110 meter hurdles, was fourth in the 300 hurdles and third in the 400 meters. Senior Nico Sloop won the high jump and was second in both the long jump and the triple jump, and freshman Kahlil Vallas Martins won the 100.

Sophomore Justin Cox was second in the 800 meters and third at 1,600 meters; senior James Reed was third in the 200; sophomore Josef Marenec was third in the long jump; senior Sam Zyskowski was third in the triple jump anf sophomore Greg Kenton was third in the triple jump.

Sonoma’s 4X100 relay team was first while the 4X400 relay team was second.

Sonoma Coach Linda Patterson said the girls can overtake Piner for second in the conference, but she doesn’t think they can catch Petaluma.

The thinclads will be at Montgomery Saturday for the Viking Classic and will host their only meet of the year next Wednesday, April 26.
