The Sonoma Valley High Dragon track team’s annual Green/White/Black relays will be held starting at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, at the Sonoma Valley High track.

Track Coach Linda Patterson said any alumni or teachers should show up at the track by 3 p.m. – and be wearing black. “We want alums to come out and be a part of the Black team,” Patterson said.

Saturday, the Dragons participated in the pre-season Windsor Relays, and while there were no team scores, several of the Dragons established their presence in the North Bay.

“We didn’t take any of our 11th-graders,” Patterson said. “They were taking the SATs on Saturday.”

On the boys side, senior Noah Bartolome placed high in three events as did junior Emma Maggioncalda on the girls side.

For the boys, Bartolome was first in the 400 with a time of 54.65 seconds; was sixth in the 110 meter hurdles in 17.03 seconds and was third in the 300 meter hurdles in a time of 3:42.56. Senior Nico Sloop was first in the triple jump with a leap of 41-05 and was fourth in the long jump at 19-0. Freshman Kahlil Villas Martins was fourth in the 100 in 11.71; senior Sam Zyskowski was 10th in the triple jump with a leap of 36-10.5 and the 400-meter relay team was third in a time of 45.96.

On the girls side, Maggioncalda with fourth in the high jump at 4-08, eighth in the 200 in 28.77 and ninth in the 100 in 13.95. Junior Tessa Baxter was 11th in the triple jump at 28.75; senior Julia Hart was seventh in the shot at 27.375; the 400-meter relay team was fifth in 53.97 and the 1,600-meter relay team was ninth in 5:27.5.

After Wednesday’s Green/White/Black relays, the Dragons won’t have another meet until April 1, for the Castleberry Meet. “That night is prom, so we’re taking the JV,” Patterson said. The varsity will participate in ther Santa Rosa Twilight Meet in Friday, April 7, and then they open their Sonoma County League season on Wednesday, April 12, in a triangular meet with Petaluma and Piner at Piner.
