The Lady Dragon cross country team took eight of the top 10 places Wednesday in a meet with Healdsburg, and beat the Greyhounds 20-43. The boys didn’t fare quite as well, falling to first-place Healdsburg 36-20.

The JV boys also lost, 35-20.

Healdsburg’s Gabby Peterson won the girls race in a time of 17 minutes 23 seconds – but the next Healdsburg runner to finish was nine places back.

Junior Amy Stanfield led the Lady Dragons and was second overall in a time of 18:30; sophomore Malia Cashel was third (18:46); junior Aliya Blinman was fourth (19:07); junior Eliza Neeley was fifth (19:30); senior Grace Cutting was sixth (19:39); senior Madie Cashel was seventh (19:41); junior Trinity McGuiness was eighth (20:10) and senior Erika Reyes was ninth (20:11).

Only the top five scores count.

For the boys, sophomore Justin Cox ran away from the field, finishing first overall in 15:21. Senior Leo Macedonio was seventh (16:27); senior Brandon Barmore was eighth (16:37); freshman Kahlil was ninth (16:40); and junior Jeremy Mackling was 11th (17:00).

For the JVs, freshman Connor Barry was fourth, freshman Mason Phillips was fifth, sophomore Alexis Castillo was seventh, senior Campbell Martin was ninth and freshman Christopher Berger was 10th.

The girls sport a perfect 4-0 record in the Sonoma County League, while the boys are 2-2 in league and the JV boys are 1-3. The boys will compete in the Ukiah Invitational on Saturday. Sonoma’s final meet before the SCL finals is Wednesday against Petaluma and Elsie Allen, although the site has yet to be determined.

The SCL meet is set for Saturday, Nov. 5, at Spring Lake in Santa Rosa.
