Little League all-stars on the road

Games start on Saturday|

The Majors Division Sonoma Little League All-Stars begin their tournament play in the District 53 All-Star tournament this weekend.

The tournaments are double elimination and winners of the tournament advance to sectionals, then state, then regionals and ultimately can make it to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

The 12-year-old all-stars travel to Benicia for a 1 p.m. game Saturday, July 2, against Napa National. The 12-year-olds include Anthony Carranza, Adam Duffield, Jayden Filippi, Dominic Girish, Christian Hernandez, Ashton Kirby, Ben Mallett, Anders Mathison, Jasper Ray, Gavin Rognlien, Robby Sangiacomo, Bennett Steiger and Nick Zeiter. The manager is Craig Ray and the coaches are Mike Sangiacomo and Marco Girish.

The 11-year-old all-stars head to Fairfield where they’ll play Napa American at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 2. The 11-year-old all-stars include Brett Armitage, Erik Cab, Sam Cutting, Luc DeMartini, Enzo Masciorini, Reed McKale, Gianni Natuzzi, Finn Parker, Carson Smith, Jaden Vides, Landen Waldrop and Heraclio Zamora. Johnny Armitage is the manager and Pete Smith and Dave Stagnaro are coaches.

The 10-year-old all-stars will be playing in American Canyon where they’ll face Fairfield Atlantic at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 2.

The 10-year-old all-stars include Andrew Bonfigli, Grant Boydell, Mikey DeWitt, Niles Francis, Luke Giusto, Maximillan Harrison, Everet Johnson, Grant Kiser, Barett Melendez, Austen Pagh, Ben Sebastiani, Nicholas Sebastiani and Lee Scott. Dean Bonfigli is the manager while Donny Sebastiani and Dave Boydell are the coaches.

The AAA All-stars went 1-2 in the Mark West tournament and were eliminated.

The AAA all-stars included Jackson Benzon, Colin Buckley, Sam Denkin, Anthony DeTorres, Vinny Girish, Luke Gruendle, Oisin Heffernan, Matt Hoffman, Tyler Kirby, Lola Martin, Jared Mellinger, Niko Olivier and Joshua Silloway. Jay Gruendle was the manager while Matt Denkin and Ryan Olivier were coaches. Sonoma beat Ukiah 10-4 in the first game, but lost to Novato 11-1 in the second game and lost to Petaluma American 27-6.
