Thinclads fall short at MOC

Four of five will return to next year’s squad|

None of the five Lady Dragon who qualified for the track Meet of Champions at Berkeley this weekend advanced to the state meet in Clovis this coming weekend.

Kiara Miles, Amy Stanfield, Isabel Garon, Grace Cutting and Emma Maggioncalda all qualified at the North Coast Section Meet on May 21 in their respective events.

In Friday preliminaries in the 100-hurdles, Miles finished 11th in a time of 15.28 seconds and missed the cut by a little more than a half-second. In the 100-meter dash, she finished 23rd with a time of 13.25 seconds. And in the 200, Miles finished 20th with a time of 26.88 seconds.

Stanfield was 24th in the 1,600 meters in a time of 5:16.24, and was 19th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:23.80. Cuttin was 25th in the 300-hurdles with a time of 50.78. Garon finished ninth in the pole vault at 10-feet 8-inches. Her best jump this year was 11-feet 6-inches. And Maggioncaldia was 20th in the high jump with a jump of 4-feet 8-inches.

Four of the five will return next year to Coach Linda Patterson’s squad. Garon is the only senior of the bunch.
