The baseball Dragons made it an early night Friday as they beat Elsie Allen 10-0 in a game that only lasted 4-1/2 innings.

But the Lady Dragon softball team, after beating El Molino by the 10-run rule Tuesday, had the tables turned on them Thursday as Analy scored early and often in a 20-0 rout.

Friday night, the Dragons didn’t exactly club the Lobos into submission. Sonoma got its 10 runs on only five hits, but they were aided by eight walks, two hit batsmen and three Lobo errors. The Dragons also stole eight bases.

In the bottom of the second, the Dragons pushed three runs across on only one hit. Sonoma added another run in the bottom of the third on two walks, a balk, a sacrifice bunt and a fielder’s choice.

The Dragons scored six times in the bottom of the fourth capped by a bases-loaded double by Ethan Vitale making it a 10-0 game. Starting pitcher Eric Bailey scattered two hits and walked two.

The win gives Sonoma a 10-10 overall record and a 5-2 SCL mark. The Dragons face a challenge today, Tuesday, when they travel to Sebastopol to meet the first-place Analy Tigers.

Thursday afternoon, the Lady Dragon softball team managed only three hits in losing to Analy 20-0. The Lady Dragons also committed seven errors to help the Tigers.

Analy put up three runs in the first, five in the second and third innings, three more in the fourth and four in the top of the fifth.

The loss gives Sonoma a 12-7 overall record and a 5-3 SCL mark. The Lady Dragons will try to get back on the winning track today, Tuesday, when they travel to Elsie Allen.
