The Sonoma Valley Tennis Association will be holding the second annual USTA sanctioned tournament on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Maxwell Park.

Mixed doubles teams with NTRP ratings of 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 are welcome to enter. All players must be members of the United States Tennis Association to qualify and the participants will receive USTA points toward their ranking.

The tournament format will be round-robin with each team playing at least three short pro sets. Play will start at 9 a.m. and will be finished at approximately 2 p.m. The entry fee is $23 per player: balls, light snacks, water, special T-shirts and prizes for the winners will be provided.

The previous event drew players from all over Northern California as far as Sacramento and San Mateo. The round-robin format allowed each team to play several sets and gave them a chance to compete with teams from various parts of the Bay Area.
