In a dramatic Sonoma County League nine-hole dual-match battle that came down to the wire at the Tayman Park Golf Course in Healdsburg, the Sonoma Valley High School boy golfers dug deep down the nail-biting stretch and managed to pull out a victory by near the slimmest of margins.

In winning four of the five individual pairings, the visiting Dragons nipped the Healdsburg Greyhounds 224-226 to complete the SCL sweep of their longtime rival.

Leading the Sonoma golfers were senior Cyle Caselli’s round of 40, senior Brett Sullivan’s 42, senior Christian Ballard’s 43, senior Austin Dunn’s 45, and senior Jake Randuch’s 54.

The Dragons hosted Petaluma in their SCL dual-match season finale yesterday at the Sonoma Golf Club – results not available at presstime – and will then tune up for the SCL championship tournament on Monday, April 27.
