Baseball Dragons blanked by Vintage
It’s been a seesaw offense for the Sonoma Valley High School varsity baseball boys in their last three nonleague home games at Arnold Field, first managing just one run in a seven-inning tie, but losing 9-1 when Acalanes tallied eight runs in the eighth; then pounding out a dozen hits in five innings for a 10-0 rout of Eureka.
Facing visiting Vintage Tuesday night, the Dragons were completely shut down offensively, mustering only one hit by sophomore Ethan Vitale and dropping a 5-0 decision.
The Dragon boys, who will wrap up their nonleague preseason against visiting longtime rival Casa Grande at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, host Elsie Allen in their Sonoma County League opener at 7 p.m. Friday, April 3, at Arnold Field.
