Sonoma girls in showdown tonight at Petaluma|

On the heels of racking up a one-sided Sonoma County League road win last Tuesday, the first-place Sonoma Valley High School varsity basketball girls returned to Santa Rosa on Thursday and were again totally dominant in registering another runaway victory to stay unbeaten with a 6-0 record in SCL play.

Following their rout of Piner, all 11 players who suited up broke into the scoring column as the visiting Lady Dragons thoroughly shut down Elsie Allen, while jumping out to a 35-4 halftime lead, and then cruising back to the Valley with a rousing 59-9 victory.

Leading the way for Sonoma were sophomore Grace Cutting’s game-high 14 points, five blocked shots, four rebounds and two assists; junior Renee O’Donnell’s double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds to go with one block; senior Sierra Lilly’s six points; senior Shelby Camilleri’s five points and four rebounds; junior Sami Von Gober’s four points and a game-high 14 rebounds; junior Emma Stanfield’s four points and five rebounds; senior Alexa Hall’s four points and two assists; junior Annie Greenslade’s three points, four rebounds and two steals; sophomore Kayla Field’s three points and three rebounds; junior Bella Bollman’s two points and three assists; and junior Heidi Landeros’ two points.

After winning the first game between the two longtime rivals, the Lady Dragons wrap up a long SCL road trip tonight with a crucial rematch showdown at Petaluma.

The SCL front-running Sonoma girls have a bye this Thursday, Jan. 29, before returning home to host defending champion Analy, which they also beat in their first meeting of the season, on Tuesday, Feb. 3, in Pfeiffer Gym.
