Special Olympic athletes visit Sassarini

Sassarini Elementary School second-grade teacher Meghan Leary recently organized for two athletes to visit the school to speak about their basketball championships in Special Olympics competitions. Shawn Mitchell, 25 and David Linarez, 24, led the students in basketball games and answered questions from the students about their lives and athletic careers. Mitchell gave the students pointers on their free throws as second grader Arlin Bonbright shot and third grader Jack Myers awaited his turn.
