Sonoma Valley High sets Rush Aug. 8, 11

Sonoma Valley High School’s annual Rush will be held on Friday, Aug. 8, and again on Monday, Aug. 11.

Students will be broken up by class to register for classes, take ID pictures, pay fees, pick up school calendars and class schedules.

Pre-registration packets can be picked up from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting Monday, Aug. 4.

Freshmen are scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, while seniors are scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. that day. Sophomores are scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, while the juniors will follow from 6 to 8 p.m.

Parents are highly encouraged to attend back-to-school registration with their student. All students will have their school ID photo taken in the Pavilion. Parents and students will turn in their completed grade level packet forms and emergency card in Pfeiffer Gym.

Information and paperwork will also be available for students interested in participating in school athletics and cheer, SVHS Booster’s Club, Grad Night, and other school activities and clubs. Transportation and food services will also be present to collect forms. Save time by filling out all required paperwork before you arrive.

Students must be cleared of all fees, equipment and books from last year in order to receive their current class schedule.

Donations asked for the 2014-15 school year ($100) are for:

• Student Engagement, Recognition and Activities (Dragon Days, Link Crew, Plus Program, award programs, homecoming, school planners, classroom supplies, field trips)

• Technology (maintenance and materials for labs and student computers)

• Campus Beautification (plants, ground cover, benches, murals, and the like)

• Library (data base maintenance, purchase new materials).

Purchase the ASB Sticker for $60 and receive discounts to school activities and free passes to athletic events.

P.E. Clothing will also be available – T-shirt and shorts are $10 each, sweat shirts, sweat pants are $15 each. Students must wear P.E. approved top and bottom.

School Calendars and Student Planners will be available free.

Checks may be payable to SVHS. Credit cards will be accepted. Parents are asked to bring small bills if paying with cash. After students have completed all the steps listed above, they will receive their class schedule.
