Sonoma Valley Democrats eye Affordable Care Act

The Sonoma Valley Democrats will host two events this month that are open to the public at no charge.

On Monday, Jan. 27, Abraham Daniels from the Sonoma County Department of Health Services will give a presentation about the Affordable Care Act and its implementation in Sonoma County.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Seven Flags Club House, 300 International Boulevard, in the Seven Flags Mobile Home Park off Watmaugh Drive, in Sonoma.

This meeting is timely, as the deadline to sign up for health insurance is coming up and there will be time for questions and answers.

Attendees are asked to bring a potluck dish to share.

Then, at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, the Sonoma Valley Democrats will hold a no-host “State of the Union Watch Party” at Round Table Pizza, 201 W. Napa St., in the Marketplace Shopping Center in Sonoma.

The SVD currently has more than 100 members and has been an active voice for democracy in Sonoma since 1956.
