Another year of fast action and road drama at Northern California’s top motorsports destination has arrived and an array of ticket opportunities for Sonoma Raceway’s 2014 Big O Tires major events schedule are now available.
The Sonoma Raceway season will open with the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival on May 17 and 18, followed by the popular NASCAR Toyota/Save Mart 350 weekend taking place Friday through Sunday, June 20 to 22.
Then the annual NHRA Sonoma Nationals weekend will be July 25 through 27, preceded by the NHRA Division 7 Drag Races July 18 through 20; after which the IndyCar Series, featuring the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma, take place the weekend of Aug. 22 through 24; the FIA World Touring Car Championship will be held from Sept. 20 to 21; and the Classic Sports Racing Group Charity Challenge ends the major events on Oct. 4 and 5.
New for 2014, Sonoma Raceway will offer Buy-Early-and-Save options for all four of its major event weekends. By purchasing in advance of NASCAR, NHRA, IndyCar and WTCC, fans can save up to 20 percent on event tickets. In addition, all Toyota/Save Mart 350 weekend pass holders will receive a complimentary Friday and Saturday Cold Pit Pass.
The Valley raceway will also offer new levels of value for the Toyota/Save Mart 350, as tickets start at $49 for race day. Prices have been restructured in all seating areas around the facility to offer better value to race fans, and the raceway will continue to offer camping around the facility, as well as many popular ticket upgrades, including the Pre-Race Pit Pass for Sunday morning.
For the first time, the raceway will offer kids’ pricing for NASCAR weekend, with children ages 12-and-under admitted free on Friday, June 20, for $10 on Saturday, June 21 and for half the price of regularly-priced tickets ($69 and above) for the Toyota/Save Mart 350.
Children will, once again, be admitted free on Saturday of the NHRA Sonoma Nationals and the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma weekends and all WTCC weekend with the purchase of an adult ticket.
Sonoma Raceway’s best ticket package is the 2014 Track Pass, which includes tickets to all major events; season-long VIP parking; a NASCAR Pre-Race Pit Pass; an INDYCAR garage/pit/pre-race pass; an NHRA Thunder Alley pass; and plenty of additional benefits.
Fans can purchase individual or weekend tickets, as well as secure camping and special ticket packages, for all 2014 major events by calling 800-870-RACE (7223), visiting an account representative at the raceway or by purchasing tickets online at racesonoma.com/tickets or ticketmaster.com.
Sonoma Raceway President and General Manager Steve Page recently made a statement regarding NASCAR’s changes to its championship points system.
“When our fans leave a race, they’re talking about who won, not who scored how many points. The object of racing is to win and this new format is going to make that clear and simple every week,” said Page. “I applaud NASCAR for taking this bold step and we’ll all be excited to see the results on the track this season, including the series’ visit to Sonoma this June.”
