Sonoma girls golf, tennis romp

Shaking off tough Sonoma County League home and road losses last week, the Sonoma Valley High School girls’ tennis team hosted SCL foe Elsie Allen on Tuesday and swept both singles and doubles in posting a 7-0 victory, while Sonoma’s girls’ golf squad received a win by way of the Lady Lobos’ incomplete lineup.

In their technical triumph over Elsie Allen at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds course in Santa Rosa, the Lady Dragons were led by junior Callie Hogan’s nine-hole medalist round of 45, followed by freshman Candice Silkey’s 46, junior Anna De Smet and frosh Hannah Ladouceur’s 51 each, and junior Isabel Garon’s 56.

The Sonoma girl golfers, who hosted Petaluma yesterday at the Sonoma Golf Club – results not available at presstime – will next face SCL foe El Molino on the Northwoods Golf Course in Monte Rio on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
