Social media workshops offered

Social media tools are becoming increasingly important for business, but for many small business owners it is difficult to know how to effectively incorporate these tools into their marketing plan. Businesses seeking to move off the social media sidelines and develop a strategy can find help in “Social Media Marketing Starter Kit” workshops offered by the Sonoma Valley Economic Vitality Partnership and the Napa Sonoma Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

The two-session workshop will be held on the evenings of Tuesday, Oct. 21, and Thursday, Oct. 23, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Krug Event Center at Sonoma Valley Inn, 550 Second St. W., Sonoma.

Participants are asked to bring their laptop or tablet, and will gain hands-on guidance in understanding various social media tools and developing a strategy and action plan suited to their business and goals.

Workshop instructor Kerry Rego is a social media trainer and technology consultant for businesses, government, and non-profits. In addition to leading workshops for the SBDC, Rego teaches classes for Sonoma State University Extended Education and SRJC Community Education, andis the author of “The Social Media Starter Kit” and “What You Don’t Know About Social Media CAN Hurt You: Take Control of Your Online Reputation.”

Space is limited. Registration fee is $30 a session, with workshop details and registration links at SonomaValley4Biz.com or napasonomasbdc.org.

The Sonoma Valley Economic Vitality Partnership is a collaboration of the City of Sonoma and the Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce. For more information, contact program manager Laurie Decker at 327-7338.
