“NO SEX PLEASE, WE’RE BRITISH,” the longest running show in London’s theater history, opens at the Sonoma Community Center Oct. 3.

Silver Moon Theatre will offer up the hilarious show, “No Sex Please, We’re British,” opening Thursday, Oct. 3, and running through Oct. 20 at the Sonoma Community Center as part of the Sonoma Theatre Alliance’s 2013 Festival of Theater.

This fast-paced British farce tells of newlyweds who live above a bank where the husband works. The bride orders Swedish glassware by mail, but what arrives instead are shockingly risqué – and illegal – postcards. The postcards are just the beginning. This play is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. and is the longest-running comedy in London theater’s history.

Originally written by Anthony Marriott and Alistair Foot, the Sonoma show will be directed by Nellie Cravens.

Performances are at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, with a matinee at 2 p.m. on Sundays during the play’s run. Performances are on the Rotary Stage in Andrews Hall of the Sonoma Community Center, 276 E. Napa St., Sonoma.

Tickets range in price from $20 to $28, and can be purchased at svbo.org.
