Sonoma Valley High School seniors Sydney Shiver-Diamond and Haley Glasner are pursuing independent studies in art this year, as a course under the tutelage of art teacher Aaron Anderson.  Along with two other students, they presented a plan for the year, centered around portfolio development goals for college admission and future career readiness in art. Once their plans were approved, the students were given the freedom to pursue their own self-directed art projects.  Anderson is working on turning the formerly-unused space in which these students paint into a permanent gallery of student artwork.  The gallery is expected to be in operation this spring, with its first formal opening of student work from the art and photography courses at the high school.
