Selling ‘Buddy Poppies’

Howard Simon, 89, was out distributing Buddy Poppies Friday at CVS in Sonoma. The poppies, being distributed in the Valley by Sonoma VFW Post 1943, help to raise money for veterans causes. The flowers will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Safeway, Lucky, Broadway Market, CVS and Friedman Brothers. Simon served in the U.S. Army in World War II in the European Theater of Operations.
