We hope that everyone who took time off for Christmas had a wonderful time with friends and family. It’s that slow time of year, even for live music.

We’ve got a teaser for some of the events coming up on New Year’s Eve a little further down in the column, but there’s still plenty to see around the Valley this weekend. The Annex Wine Bar has the Mark Larson Trio tonight, Dec. 27, kicking off at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 28, it’s Don Trotta, also for a 7:30 p.m. show. There is no cover either night.

HopMonk Tavern Sonoma has the Sonoma Mountain Band tonight, Dec. 27, for an 8:30 p.m. show. Saturday, Dec. 28, the tavern welcomes Vintage Grass featuring David Thom, also for an 8:30 p.m. show. There is no cover and the shows are all-ages.

Murphy’s Irish Pub presents Dan Martin and the Noma Rocksteady Band tonight, Dec. 27, for an 8 p.m. show. Sunday, Dec. 29, the pub has 2 Friends and a Benz for an early show at 6:30 p.m.

The Erik James Tasting Room has music tonight, Dec. 27, with Charlie Hickox, Snakebite Jacobs and Mark Rosengarten, kicking off at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, it’s the Left Coast Syncopators, featuring Tim Eschliman, Snakebite Jacobs and Kevin Zuffi, also for a 7 p.m. show. There is no cover either night.

The El Verano Inn presents Latin night tonight, Dec. 27, with Los Traviezos De Jolibud and El Nuevo Sabor Latino.

The Epicurean Connection presents Miles Wick and Alex Rather Taylor tonight, Dec. 27, starting at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, it’s Tom Martin, also for a 7:30 p.m. start. Sunday, Dec. 29, it’s Homebrew kicking off at 1 p.m.

The Blue Moon Saloon has the continuation of the blues jam on Sunday, Dec. 29. Show time is 10 p.m.

The Plaza Bistro presents Kenny Washington and the Jeff Masannari Duo tonight, Dec. 27, kicking off at 7 p.m.
