This weekend brings the annual Sonoma-Napa “Ride to Revel” bicycle ride and fundraiser, starting at 8 a.m. Saturday in the Plaza with the ride – then returning to the Plaza later that day for the revel.
That morning, registration and packet pick up will be held from 6 to 7:30 a.m. and after that, participants will strike out on East Napa Street in the name of raising money for Sonoma charities. There are three courses – plotted for 10-, 40- or 65-mile rides – featuring wine-and-food pairings along the way, which eventually lead everyone back to the Plaza for more wine, beer, food and live music.
According to its website, “The Echelon Series was launched five years ago for love of cycling, desire to create a day of entertainment for the community, and most importantly, to serve as a fundraising engine for local Sonoma charities.” The group says it has partnered with the Sonoma Valley Fund in order to ensure “that the results of your efforts will be split evenly amongst its 20-plus associated Sonoma-based charities.”
