Ragtime Festival hits Wine Country

The sweet sound of fiddles will float through Wine Country on the weekend of Oct. 19 and 20, when Ragtime performers from around the country will converge on the North Bay for two days of music. This year’s Ragtime Festival features headliners John Partridge, Larisa Migachov, John Remmers and the Ragtime Skedaddlers.

The weekend starts off on Saturday, Oct. 19, with a noon concert at the House of Happy Walls in Jack London State Historic Park, followed by continuous ragtime music at five separate locations around Sonoma.

That evening at 7 p.m., there will be a family friendly ragtime variety show at the First Congregational Church of Sonoma, 252 W. Spain St.

On Sunday, Oct. 20, the Festival moves to Napa with two ragtime/gospel church services at the First Presbyterian Church of Napa 1333 Third St., at 9 and 10:30 a.m. The church will host a ragtime variety show at 4 p.m. including silent movies and a sing-along.

Other performers for the weekend include Tom Brier and the Saloon Sweeties, Brooks Christensen, the Ragtime Choir, Ronnie Riddell and Susan DeMatei.
