Editor Index-Tribune:

Global climate change with profound impacts on the lives of billions.

Record extinction of Earth’s species, and the oceans soon to be depleted of fish.

Nuclear disasters, fracking, a possible reigniting of the Cold War and one-sixth of the U.S. population below the poverty level.

Forbes reports that 85 individuals and families have more wealth than the poorest 3.5 billion people on the planet.

A 13-year-old boy shot to death, shot seven times, for the crime of carrying a toy gun.
