Letter of the Day: Teach a man to fish without a use permit, and he’ll fish for a lifetime

Hey, Sonoma County officials! It would mean a great deal to myself and my family to know your thoughts on this question:

Why is the Permit & Resource Management Department (PRMD) allowing Mr. Frazier to modify a permit that has yet to be finalized (“Leland Fishes for Modified Use Permits,” May 5)? Is PRMD finalizing Frazier’s permits prior to full compliance with the COAs set-forth? I know item 36, under Pre-Operational Requirements, has not been complied with - but that has to do with Aviation Safety (the Side Safety Zones) which seemingly is not of importance.

The Sonoma Valley Citizens Advisory Commission is rightfully working to help promote business in Sonoma, yet how can they make an informed decision without considering all elements of this particular instance. One should not blindly support development just because a citizen claims they will make the right decisions with their business. Especially when that citizen has circumvented, ignored and violated county code during the development of his property.
