Our dear Aunt Virginia Videtta passed away peacefully on March 28, 2016, at 90 years of age. Ginny was the youngest of four children to Saverio (Sam) Videtta and Virginia Margaret Pizzi who were born in Italy and migrated to the Boston area where Ginny and her siblings Christina, Tony and Louise were born and raised.

Ginny and her sister, Chris, moved to San Leandro, along with their mama (Nanna) in the early 1960’s to be with their other siblings, Louise Videtta Fisher and Tony Videtta. Both Ginny and Chris never married and took care of nanna until her death in 1984 at age 100.

Ginny was fun-loving and enjoyed cooking, crafts, gardening and was a devoted baseball and football fan. She was also a career woman who worked at Clorox in Oakland for many years as a bookkeeper and office manager. After retiring, she volunteered at the hospital and did some traveling.

Aunt Chris was a gifted pianist and also worked for most of her life. She worked at a plant soldering transistors and circuit boards. Chris loved knitting and crochet and made lovely baby booties and blankets.

The Aunts had many friends, family and neighbors that adored them and visited regularly for their hospitality and great cooking. They were always up for a good game of cards or bingo, and were fun to be around.

A year after moving to Sonoma, Aunt Chris passed on June 1, 2013 at the age of 96. The aunts are survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and friends who will miss them dearly.

Chris and Ginny will be laid to rest with their beloved mother in San Leandro.
