Now in its third year, Woodland Star Charter School’s Schools of Hope program continues to support emerging readers in the second and third grades. More tutors means more students strengthening their reading skills.

Schools of Hope is an early grade reading initiative that helps children build the critical reading skills needed to succeed in school and life. Through Schools of Hope, volunteers are recruited, trained and placed in local schools.

The tutor works one-on-one with kindergarten through third grade students during the school day to supplement the work in the classroom.
