Sonoma Community Center will host its annual student art exhibition in Gallery 212 from May 6 to 25.

The public is invited to the opening reception, which will take place on Friday, May 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. At 5 p.m., the senior project mural of Natalie Anderson and Maggie Thomas will also be unveiled.

The exhibition showcases work created in the center’s arts education program in the past year. Highlights include ceramics, paintings, prints and fiber art created in the center’s classes and open studios.

“This show is an opportunity for our students to participate in one of the center’s traditions, while formally exhibiting their work in the community,” said Liz Treacy, arts education and program manager. “Anyone who took a class here in the past year was eligible to enter a piece.”

Gallery 212 is both a public space and a teaching gallery. The gallery showcases the wide variety of creative techniques practiced at the SCC throughout the year.

Gallery 212 is open Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
