Dense smoke from the Camp Fire in Butte County continued to blanket the North Bay this week. Air quality in Sonoma on Monday afternoon reentered the “red zone,” which is defined as unhealthy air conditions that could cause adverse health effects. Bay Area air quality officials said air quality is expected to remain unhealthy for several more days due to an abundance of smoke being trapped near the ground and surrounding the region. Officials said Bay Area residents should limit outdoor activity as much as possible during the alert. People are advised to stay indoors with windows and doors closed.
