Incumbents are top money-raisers in Sonoma Council race

Councilmember Hundley outdistances pack with $14K war chest|

As the Nov. 6 election approaches, of all seven candidates running for the Sonoma City Council, Rachel Hundley has raised by far the most money.

Disclosure forms filed with the City of Sonoma provide a look at the contributions made to the candidates and how much money they have left to spend. The disclosures cover July 1 through Sept. 22 and can be found on the city’s website.

These disclosures don’t represent any contributions or expenditures made after the Sept. 22 deadline. More disclosures will be posted on the city website probably in the next few days covering Sept. 23 through Oct. 20.

Seven people are running for three open City Council seats. Two are incumbents, Hundley and Mayor Madolyn Agrimonti.

Hundley raised $14,229 at the time of filing and has spent $2,583, according to the form. The two incumbents received the most contributions, but Hundley’s war chest far outdoes that of the closest contender.

In contrast, Agrimonti, who raised the second-highest amount, raised $6,882 – less than half the amount Hundley raised. Agrimonti has spent $3,276, according to her disclosure.

Close behind Agrimonti for contributions, Logan Harvey has raised $5,854 and spent $2,021 as of the time of filing.

James Cribb has raised $3,223 and spent $2,153, while candidate Chris Petlock has raised $1,750 and spent $1,660.

Closely trailing Cribb, candidate Jack Ding has raised $1,620 and spent $1,404.

Jack Wagner, the seventh City Council candidate, did not file a Form 460 disclosure form like the other candidates. This is because Wagner does not expect to receive $2,000 or more in contributions or spend $2,000 or more on his campaign during the calendar year.

For this reason, Wagner is not required to file the 460 statement. He fulfilled his filing requirements by filing what is known as a short form, the 470 form.
