The Sonoma Index-Tribune and its website Sonomanews.com is currently seeking a news reporter for its downtown Sonoma office to cover various news beats – from city government and police and emergencies to community events and occasional features.

The new reporter will research and write three-to-four full length news stories weekly, plus breaking news stories as needed; track local news trends, suggest news stories, take photos and videos; and post stories to sonomanews.com and social media.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field. Strong knowledge and familiarity with Sonoma Valley area and community a plus.

Multimedia skills, including updating a website, use of digital and video camera are preferred. Spanish language skills a plus.
