After hours: Sonoma Valley High’s Devin Daly

Teachers enter the profession because they are passionate about their subject and because they love working with students.

But teachers often have other passions, and those take place after 3 p.m. This new monthly column introduces local teachers and their interests and hobbies outside of the classroom

Sonoma Valley High School French teacher Devin Daly has quite a passion after school hours.

As a teen, classic cars were his thing. He says that he was always attracted to unique, noteworthy vehicles such as the Austin-Healey Bug-Eye Sprite, the Sunbeam Tiger, and the Amphicar. But the passion took a hiatus when he discovered France.

Fast forward 35 years and that teen passion has returned. Four months ago, Daly launched a website – a want-ad site true to its name.

The site is solely dedicated to those seeking hard-to-find classic car parts.

He really enjoys interacting with folks who share the same passion. Sometimes he, too, tries to lend a helping hand in locating that elusive classic car part.
