The weather may have been rainy, but enthusiasm wasn't dampened among attendees at the official grand opening of the Fetters Apartments in Fetters Hot Springs on Thursday, Jan. 18.

First District Supervisor Susan Gorin and Fetters Apartments resident Marisa Soulier led local officials and MidPen Housing representatives in cutting the ribbon to declare the development officially open.

The affordable housing development of 60 apartments opened to residents in March, 2017. A 40-unit dedicated senior project, Celestina Garden, will begin construction in the spring. An adjacent shopping Center, Vailetti Plaza, is nearing completion.

The grand opening was originally scheduled for October, but the firestorms forced a delay.
